urgent help for Zhuracpamba in Ecuadorian mountain

we are calling in support for Zhuracpamba - a very special place and family in the Ecuadorian mountains that is of great historical value. It needs urgent help for restoration and building projects, as the conditions of the house in which Taita Alejo, his son Huayra, and the family lives are very bad.

The conditions of the house are bad, the roof is coming down, some of the walls are creek and holes in the walls are getting bigger each day. The conditions of living in the house are not safe anymore.

The roof needs to be replaced as soon as possible.

What is Zhuracpamba and why does it need our immediate help?

Zhuracpamba is the the place where the the Andean mountain range begins and ends in the Jubones Valley. There is a farm house that is of great historical value.

Its history goes back 300 years to 1775.

It is the first place in Latin America where the traditional way of the Red Road began with the Sun Dance and Vision Quest Ceremonies.

Zhuracpamba represents a refuge for all people who want to understand how to live in a good way with the earth. It is guarded by stunning nature, for which it is home to many plants and wild animals. At Zhuracpamba the people honor that they are guests of nature and take on the responsibility to be guardians for it as well.

They have been the keepers of a fire, that has been burning continuously for 15 years.

Around 500 humans have been coming to Zhuracpamba each year to get in touch with the profound medicine that this place carries - an experience of family, love, and connection to nature.

The old farm buildings are currently the permanent home for Taita Alejo and his son Huayra who live there in 4th generation, as well as temporary home for volunteers who desire to seek a deeper connection and live in a different way and for all who want to come in the future. This place is welcoming to all.

But it will need severe efforts of many to keep this alive.

Financial Need

We estimate a total cost of 30.000€ to replace the roof.

We estimate another 20.000€ to restore the rest of the house, renew some of the walls and add installations that are needed for the family to live there.

estamos pidiendo apoyo para Zhuracpamba - un lugar y una familia muy especial en la sierra ecuatoriana que tiene un gran valor histórico. Necesita ayuda urgente para proyectos de restauración y construcción, ya que las condiciones de la casa en la que vive el Taita Alejo, su hijo Huayra y la familia, son muy malas.

Las condiciones de la casa son malas, el techo se está viniendo abajo, algunas de las paredes se están hundiendo y los agujeros en las paredes son cada día más grandes. Las condiciones de vida en la casa ya no son seguras.

¿Qué es Zhuracpamba y por qué necesita nuestra ayuda inmediata?

Zhuracpamba es el lugar donde comienza la cordillera de los Andes y termina en el valle de Jubones. Es un caserío que tiene un gran valor histórico.

Su historia se remonta 300 años atrás, hasta 1775.

Es el primer lugar de América Latina donde se inició el camino tradicional del Camino Rojo con las ceremonias de la Danza del Sol y la Búsqueda de la Visión.

Zhuracpamba representa un refugio para todas las personas que quieren entender cómo vivir y relacionarse de buena manera con la tierra. Está custodiado por una naturaleza impresionante, por que es el hogar de muchas plantas y animales silvestres. En Zhuracpamba la gente honra el hecho de ser huéspedes de la naturaleza y asume la responsabilidad de ser también guardianes de ella.

Son los guardianes de un fuego que arde sin cesar desde hace 15 años.

Alrededor de 500 personas vienen a Zhuracpamba cada año para entrar en contacto con la profunda medicina que este lugar lleva consigo - una experiencia de familia, amor y conexión con la naturaleza.

Esta antigua construcción es actualmente el hogar permanente del Taita Alejo y su hijo Huayra que viven como 4ª generación, así como hogar temporal para voluntarios que desean buscar una conexión más profunda y vivir de una diferente manera. Este lugar es acogedor para todos.

Pero necesitará esfuerzos severos de muchos para mantenerlo vivo.

Necesidad financiera

Estimamos un coste total de 30.000€ para reemplazar el tejado.

Estimamos otros 20.000€ para restaurar el resto de la casa, renovar algunas de las paredes y añadir instalaciones necesarias para que la familia y quienes se sientan identificados puedan habitar aquí.
